TSG: How did you get into dentistry, and what keeps you coming back?

I grew up with many physicians in my family and thus a keen interest in medicine. I also enjoy different forms of artistry, from painting to ceramics. Dentistry is a beautiful blend of both medicine and art, and the profession allows me to be creative every single day!

TSG: What types of clients do you cater to?

I have a general dentistry practice and treat patients of all ages. My true passion is cosmetic dentistry. Not only is there an artistic component to cosmetics, but the true joy comes from enhancing a person’s smile and overall confidence! 

TSG: What are some common concerns/myths you’d like to bust around visiting the dentist?

Many patients have anxiety around dental visits and it usually stems from a negative past experience. Modern dentistry and technology allows for virtually painless cleanings and dental procedures. Patients can also feel overwhelmed if they need/want a great deal of dentistry due to the time and cost expense. I give patients various options and a feasible timeline so that they can still achieve great results without compromise, at their own pace.

TSG: Describe your office environment in a few words.

Calm, clean, and a spa-like atmosphere!

 TSG: How big is your team, and what does that look like?

Seaside Dentistry was a start-up practice that opened its doors in 2021. In just one year, my team has grown to include an office manager, two hygienists, and two assistants. We have regular team meetings and trainings, and focus on staying up-to-date on technology. I personally attend over 100 hours of continuing education each year to ensure I am staying on the cutting edge of dentistry.

TSG: You offer a wide range of services – outside of our regular check-ups, what else can we come to you for?

Our services include everything from white-colored fillings and porcelain crowns/bridges, to prescription-strength teeth whitening, Invisalign, and porcelain veneers.

TSG: How has your business evolved over the past 2-3 years?

The growth and success have been unbelievable to witness in such a short period of time! I am very grateful to this community, my patients, and my wonderful team.

TSG: Any interesting new technology/innovations coming to your office in the near future?

We are layering new technology into the practice every six months. Currently, we have an Itero digital scanner and two diode soft tissue lasers. Our fourth treatment room will be completed in October. Future acquisitions will likely include a cone beam CT for 3D imaging, a 3D printer and more!

TSG: What are some highs and lows of being a small business owner?

It’s certainly been amazing to see an idea I had in 2020 evolve into a bustling dental practice in 2022! I enjoy watching us grow with team members and new patients. My greatest joy comes from knowing our patients are receiving comprehensive and high-quality dental care. The feedback we have received verbally and with our online reviews has been outstanding! 

With small business ownership, there are always challenges that exist. I think the day-to-day goal of striving for clinical excellence, while also making sure our patients are having the best experiences possible is the ultimate challenge a dentist faces. I’ve been very blessed thus far and haven’t experienced a major ‘low’.

TSG: Share some learnings from being a successful female founder.

With a clear vision, passion, and dedication, you can create the business of your dreams. Yes, it’s hard work, but it’s SO worth it!

 TSG: How has working with The Scout Guide improved or amplified your business?

Yes, of course! It’s allowed me to be amongst like-minded individuals in my community and given Seaside Dentistry an additional source of recognition.

 TSG: What would you be doing in ‘another life’ – if not dentistry?

Ah, that’s a loaded question, as I have MANY hobbies and interests outside of dentistry! I love interior design and fine jewelry making!!
