20(ish) Questions with Palm Beach Regency’s Korinne Belock

More than ten years after Palm Beach Regency first opened its doors, Korinne Belock is celebrating (exactly) one year as the new owner.

For Korinne and her team, the past 12 months have been busy, to say the least!

A rebrand gave way to a charming new logo; the exterior of the building got a bold, hard-to-miss striped makeover.

On the digital front, www.palmbeachregency.com underwent a full website re-launch, giving customers a friendlier shopping experience, with improved access to product, imagery, and gift cards.

Korinne has also built a new trade program , providing designers, decorators, and architects alike exclusive benefits to her coveted assortment.

Last – but certainly not least – Korinne gave some extra love to the physical shop, leveraging her former life as a professional organizer to maximize the space and in turn, the shopping experience as a whole.

She’s managed to successfully pay tribute to the longstanding history of the store while also breathing new life into it.

It’s off the beaten path, and always well worth the trip.

Bonus points for getting furniture without the 6-9 month delay…instant gratification that’s simply tough to come by elsewhere!

So how did she get here? The story might surprise you.

Having moved to Palm Beach from New York City five years ago, the first thing she needed was obvious: furniture.

“I stumbled across Palm Beach Regency and started buying pieces for the house,” shared Korinne. “I’ve been a longtime lover of vintage, but living in New York, I never had the ability to collect it.”

Though she had no real ties to the industry – her previous lives included jobs in Politics and Home Organization – Korinne furnished much of her home via Palm Beach Regency treasures. So much so, that when the former owners decided to sell the business, they approached her directly in the hopes she’d be interested in taking over.

Turns out, she was actively seeking a new venture and the timing was kismet.

We’re so excited about what’s in store for the future of Palm Beach Regency under the leadership of this self-starter multi-hyphenate.

Join us in getting to know Korinne, the new(ish) owner in a 20(ish) question interview.

Coveted/wishlist find?

This is an endless list, but right now I’m looking for a fabulous Old Florida style rattan or bamboo bar. I LOVE a good party and helping clients incorporate a fun bar set-up into their homes. Plus, it’s so much fun to accessorize a bar with other little treasures and trinkets that are always good cocktail conversation starters!

 Go-to workday outfit?

Most days I am moving, cleaning, prepping and photographing furniture, in between desk work and helping clients in the shop, so my go-to outfit is a jumpsuit in a fun print with lots of pockets. It’s comfortable and functional, but still stylish and professional too.

 Best kept local secret?

My backyard pool cabana! My husband and I designed it to feel like you’re on vacation in the islands, but in the comfort and convenience of your own backyard. We love to entertain and have friends over on the weekends to unwind and take advantage of this beautiful paradise we call home.

Describe PB Regency collection in 10 words or less.

 Will you take 11?!

Vintage lovers’ paradise where Hollywood Regency flair meets Old Florida charm

 Favorite furniture maker?

Some of our best-selling brands that make beautiful, timeless vintage pieces are Thomasville, McGuire and Brown Jordan.

Day-off hobby ?

Sunday is my day! Not quite a hobby but… I love to get dressed up and go to a really nice brunch at Café Boulud, Le Bilboquet or The Colony with my husband or a small group of close friends. I do brunch, because I can’t stay awake for dinner!

Name a memorable find from the past few years.

This is like picking a favorite child. Not possible! Personally, my most special finds have been from my travels over the last ten years. Every room in our home has a unique piece like the carved coconut shell made by a friend in Anguilla or vintage rugs from Marrakech and Guatemala.

First item you purchased at PB Regency?

Oh I love this memory! The first piece I purchased from PBR was right when we moved to Florida in 2017. It’s a lucite Charles Hollis Jones style table. It was a small dining table in our first rental that now I use as an occasional table in our home.

Go-to paint colors?

In my own home, it’s definitely Farrow and Ball’s Pink Ground and Benjamin Moore’s Ocean Tropic. Pink and green forever! I love the mix of the pale pink and dark cabana stripe green.

Ideal vacation spot?

Our home away from home is the island of Anguilla, where we were engaged and married. We’ve been back over twenty times! It’s a very special place with the best beaches, local spots and laid back scene.

What piece completes a room?

That one-of-a-kind piece is what completes a room. Even if your style isn’t a home full of vintage furniture, every room should have an item that’s unique only to you. That’s what makes a house a home!

 Design pet peeve?

I’m all about homes with personality. So I’d say my pet peeve is when a home looks like it’s a hotel room. Pretty, but not for me!

Quintessential Palm Beach must-have piece?

Every Palm Beach home should have a one-of-a-kind garden seat and some fabulous rattan accents. Lots of palms and a pool in the backyard. That’s the dream!

Favorite Palm Beach neighborhood?

I’d have to say our neighborhood – El Cid in West Palm. I love the island, of course, but our historic neighborhood is so special. It’s so nice having friends just around the block and still be able to bike to the beach.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

Absolutely travel! Places like Marrakech, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean have all been an influence on me over the last ten years. Sadly, I don’t get to travel nearly as much as I used to. Books are a close second now – beautiful design books, vintage fashion and travel images and Florida history are some of my favorites.

PB Regency fun fact?

First, we get almost 100 pieces in a week. So while things sell quickly, it’s like a new shop every week.

We ship across the country. We are very focused on improving PBR’s level of service, so our Shipping Coordinator works hard to get the best shipping rates and keep in touch with clients throughout the order and shipping process.

All of our vintage pieces can be customized with paint and refinishing to your style, if desired. We prepare a work order and arrange logistics for painting and refinishing with third party providers to take the stress out of that process.

We’re very focused on making the PBR shopping experience as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Why partner with The Scout Guide?
